My favorite thing in the Awake were the little new clips in the back called "Watching the News." How the Borg has changed from pre-1975 compared to today. I used to love calling on ministers to debate them. The JW's today can't defend their beliefs. 99% can not explain the overlapping generations or why 1914 is so important to the Borg and the sad thing is they really don't care, -

I just love this picture that I saw on a post from yesterday. I am the guy in the middle. My wife and her family are under the umbrellas. I told my wife that the meetings are so depressing with all of the gloom and doom. For over 40 years the theme of the meetings has been the end is so close so don't buy any green bananas and if you aren't a JW you will die at Armageddon.
I remember sitting in the hot sun at the summer district assembly in 1974. The highlight of all assemblies back in the day was the last talk on Sunday afternoon. The entire audience was on pins and needles just chomping at the bit, eager for news about next year 1975. We all were waiting for what the speaker would say about next years assemblies. Finally the speaker got to the point and we all held our breath. "Next year, If it be Jehovah's will, we have district assemblies." Right then I knew I had been scammed.
For years 7 out of 10 public talks on Sunday have 30% of the beginning of the talk cover just how terrible world conditions are with lots of details on the number of murders, rapes, wars, starvation, etc. It is just so depressing, but fear not the answer is God's Kingdom which will soon, just around the corner soon, take place and our loving God will destroy 99.9% of the worlds population. But don't feel bad, the wicked were given ample warning. Remember how the householder was offered the Watchtower and Awake by a pimpley faced teenager, and they refused the magazine. (had no interest in rock gardens or the benefits of fresh oranges.) How many times did they have a witness when we walked in their neighborhoods. They hid from us and peaked out of they blinds, but we knew and Jehovah knew they were there. They see us standing by our carts with our literature and yet they still refuse to become a part of God's loving earthy organization.
The meetings are more joyless than the waiting room in a hospital emergency waiting room. I have never seen so many people rejoice when something bad happens, proving the end is near. Don't you just love it when there is an earthquake and 5,000 people die and what gets mentioned from the platform, "we are sorry to say that 5 witnesses died and three kingdom halls were destroyed."
I just hope that more and more witnesses wake up and be like me without the umbrella.

Convention coming to a city near YOU...
by Sugar Shane in...and it's our duty to warn non-jws, or half awake jws about these events, as they start appearing in newspapers throughout the us, and abroad.
it almost comes out as a promotional ad for the jw convention.
the 'current events' editing staff of this paper likely has no idea what their promoting.

Yes loyalty to the Governing Body. The prayers at the KH mention the Governing Body more than Jesus. All that our Savior gets is an in Jesus name. -

I will guess that she will be interviewed at this summers convention because of the fine witness she gave to the world and to the President. I would not be surprised if she also counted her time while she wore her badge of honor. The company that sells the JW Org badges will see a spike in business. The badges will get bigger. To boost hours reported in field service, no doubt time will be counted for badge time.

CHILD BAPTISM
by megabyte_vijay init is strange to read the last week watchtower that encouraging child/teenagers' baptism.
even jesus was baptised as his 30. jws encouraging marriages at an older age.
but why they are encouraging children to get baptised.

Sour Grapes
They want children to be baptized to "lock" them in. The children want to get baptized to please their parents. All children want to make their parents proud of them. When they get older, perhaps late teens or later, and they realize that being a JW involves believing in "divine lies," they know they will loose all of their family if they are DF'd or DA'd. The Borg knows that if they keep losing the youth, they will be nothing in 20 years.

New Spiritually Weak Label: Not Using Tablet/iPhone
by Doubtfully Yours inwith last night's meeting it became official: here in the states is a must to keep up with 'jehovah's org' that one fully jumps on board with this tablet/iphone crap.. so, now, all of us that up to this point have refused to follow the wtbts in their electronic/wireless revolution will deal with the browbeating from the 'spiritual' ones.. already receiving lots of grief from hubby and rest of the family/close friends when seen at the meetings with paper publications.
damn it!!!
am i alone in this resistance???!!!.

It's all about the money. All of the savings from not publishing can be put towards the ghost kingdom halls being built somewhere. -

The thing that bothers me the most is the mother of the JW girl would encourage a secret Bible study with the little girl with two mommies to learn the ways of God. Then the little girl can get baptized and have the duty to shun her two mommies who have fed her, clothed her, took care of her when she was sick and love her. The shunning I am sure who would motivate the two mommies to study to be slaves of the Watchtower. (there are experiences where the witlesses encourage bible studies with children without their parents knowledge.)
The Witchtower Bable and Trick Society has broken up so many families that if there were a paradise earth, God would not want them there.

I liked in John's blog how he was dictating letters that were sent to the Kingdom Halls to answer weighty questions that the body of elders struggled with and needed guidance from the Borg. Now the answer comes from a young Bethelite maybe half or one third the age of the men who needed guidance from God's organization. Back in the late 60's I viewed these letters from the Borg as almost being written by God. I am a little disappointed that John Bechtel may have written them instead of an older man with gray hair anointed with holy spirit. Based upon John's writing skills, his answers would have better anyhow.

by elderess inonly a few days ago i was walking around the house in a mindless wander thinking if i needed to seek professional help.

Elderess,
I am very happy for you! What I love about all of the folks on JWD is the ability to talk about our fears, our dashed dreams, our anger, and facing our mortality ( I wasn't supposed to finish high school 53 years ago) without the fear of being hauled to the back room at the KH, or hearing "we would like to stop by after the meeting Sunday," or being looked as being fringe witnesses. Once you cross that bridge there is no turning back to how it used to be. Hang in there.

Just a thought from the blog. If the Governing Body voted to make a collective decision, why would God inspire them to have differences in opinion?
